CU Soft v5.1began it's journey in 1981 as CUE, Credit Union Experience, on an old microcomputer. It was then transferred to a Burroughs B20 and in 1983 on a IBM XT in the old BASIC Language. In 1992, it was decided that the program would be rewritten from scratch. Not a single line of code from the old program was reused. The old program worked well but it was probably similiar to what you are using now; with letter and/or number choices for menu operations that you wish to perform. This is nice but not very efficient for you. It is only beneficial for the programmer who, at the time, had limited computer hardware with which to work. With the decision to redesign the program, the first thing we looked at is what a credit union teller or manager did on a daily basis. We realized that members may make several differant requests while they are in your officeor on the phone. Therefore, we decided to bring up the member's account, show all the important information, then allow you to process the member's request: make a withdrawal, change an address, check the prior activity on the share draft or change a payroll deduction without having to jump from one computer menu to another.
